Sushi Eating // Bubble Fish // Philly (i)

So I’ve tried to go to Fat Salmon Sushi (Google shows 100 reviews with a 4.3) twice now.  Their hours says 10p close.  I arrive at 945p but they won’t serve me bc their last seating is 930p. The kitchen literally closes at 10p.

Instead I’m eating at Bubble Fish (71 reviews, 4.6), which closes at midnight.
Ambience: Modern and cool. BUT, BYOB.  😦
Ordered: TGI Fresh Roll, Tuna Princess, STHR, +miso. (~$40)
Thoughts: bowl of miso was huge.  STHR was ordinary with a crunchy-ness to it.  The TGI Fresh Roll (first photo) also tasted ordinary.  Not quality fish.  Tuna Princess (second photo) was meh.  Can’t honestly believe this place got a 4.6 out of 5. They also don’t accept Amex.

Raspberry Pi

For my birthday, I bought myself a Raspberry Pi 3, Mobel B, Starter Kit from MCM Electronics (www.mcmelectronics.com) that included the Pi, an 8G SD card, power supply and a see-through plastic case.

First project: http://makezine.com/projects/send-ticket-isp-when-your-internet-drops/

Pretty cool set-up.  Played around with GitHub.  Pi is now plugged directly into my cable modem and I remote into it, when I need to.  Below are Google Charts depicting my monthly speeds.

I pay for 50/50 on Frontier Communications (nee Verizon ViOS). The BLUE color is download and the RED color is upload. The chart graphs hourly speeds as determined by http://www.speedtest.net.

Chair Caning

I like DIY projects… plumbing, electrical, computer, etc. One that I’ve taken up recently is replacing the RUSH (fiber or paper) on my kitchen chairs.  It’s tough getting the right supplies, knowing which size rush you need (5 or 8, in my case — fyi, the width measurements are in 32nd’s).

But now I have a whole spool that I bought from Cane and Reed (www.caneandreed.com, golden brown fiber rush: 10 lb. coil of 8/32″ for ~$70 with shipping) and can repair all of my chairs.  The tough part is soaking larger rush as it tends to unwind… And determining what pattern to follow.
